Just a very quick post as we’re off to Terminal 4 at Heathrow in less than an hour for our flight to the US, but we had to post with a pretty funny story from the last few days.
On the 24th we hopped over to the main island of Malta and spent the night at a hotel we like in St. Julian’s, as we had a very early flight the next morning and didn’t feel like getting up at 3 AM to make the journey via ferry then cab to the airport to get there in time.
The very nice woman at the front desk upgraded us to the “Ambassador Suite”, and I have to admit I chuckled a little as usually when we get “upgrades” they turn out to look an awful lot like the standard room we were expecting, so thought this would be the same.
Not at all, as this really was an upgrade to a much larger room than we’ve had there before, with a very nice view of the bay which my wife took a photo of and posted on Facebook:

We took off early the next morning and arrived in London yesterday, spending one night here before our flight today back to the US.
Checking up with email and Facebook, one of our friends had pointed out on Facebook that apparently none other than Tom Hanks (who is in Malta for a movie shoot) posted a photo on his Twitter account of his own view from his hotel room in Malta on May 25th:

Umm, wow. Hope we didn’t leave too much of a mess, Mr. Hanks. And hope you enjoy Malta; it’s pretty awesome.
